Evaluatie van harde bifocale contactlenzen voor de krijgsmacht [Evaluation of rigid bifocal contact lenses for the Dutch Armed Forces]

article
To determine the effectiveness of rigid bifocal contact lenses for military personnel, three types of lenses were compared: monovision, concentric bifocal, and diffractive. The subjective comfort, clinical status, and a number of visual functions were tested after 1 week and 4 weeks of daily wear. The diffractive and simultaneous vision lenses did not suffice for visually demanding tasks. The monovision lenses are an alternative for correcting presbyopia as long as the tasks do not require accurate stereopsis.
