Boundary layer free troposphere exchange
conference paper
As part of a criteria-document on ozone to be written on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Physical Planning and Environment calculations were planned for the long term/seasonal averages of ozone concentrations. Next to the well known and documented short term adverse effect of ozone on human health there are indications that longer term values, such as the seasonal averaged daylight-averaged 03-concentration could contribute to adverse effects on crops and possibly forests. Consequently, it has been tried to calculate these longer term average 03-levels for the Netherlands, including some calculations to the effect of possible emission reductions.
