Development of standard measurement methods for structure-borne sound emission

Unacceptable levels of machinery noise are often produced predominantly by vibration generated in connected structures. It is, therefore, important to develop techniques for the evaluation of machines as sources of structureborne sound. In principle the necessary procedures are dauntingly complex. In this paper several simplified procedures are proposed. Not all of the methods presented here have been tested thoroughly under practical conditions. With errata on last page.
