Tissue typing of chimpanzees: I. Evidence for two allelic series of leukocyte antigens
article
The number of serologically defined leukocyte specificities of chimpanzees has increased to 11. There is provisional evidence that the groups are controlled by two series of alleles and that these may be the chimpanzee counterpart of the first and second series of HL A. Analyses of results obtained at the Atlanta workshop, where up to four generations of chimpanzee families were typed, strongly support the hypothesis that the reagents described in this paper identify specifications controlled by two closely linked allelic series of ChL A. Chemicals/CAS: Histocompatibility Antigens; Immune Sera
