Automatic Reading and Recording of the Microlymphocytotoxicity Test

We succeeded in developing a method which records the results of the fluorochromasia test automatically. This was facilitated by the centrifugation of the Falcon tray in a tilted position, thus separating cells and medium. The fluorescein which was left behind in live cells could then be estimated and recorded with the use of a scanning microscope, controlled by a PDP 8/E computer. The reading could be postponed. Typing results obtained in this system correlated very well with those of the routine laboratory.
