Gebruik in epidemiologisch onderzoek van de gestandaardiseerde vragenlijst voor respiratoire symptomen [Use of the standardized questionnaire for respiratory symptoms in epidemiological surveys]
article
The preliminary conclusion of this survey is that the changes noticed in the answers to questions about cough and sputum probably proceed from the accidental fluctuations which could be expected. Regarding dyspnoea, the author found a surplus of changes from 'no' to 'yes', compared to the frequency of changes from 'yes' to 'no'. This might indicate that the prevalence of dyspnoea increased in the course of 3 yr. This phenomenon should in fact be analysed more profoundly. The use of standardized questionnaires is a particularly valuable and reliable method in epidemiological investigations.
