Cellular proliferation patterns in an experimental Rhabdomyosarcoma in the rat
article
The studies reported concern the growth pattern of a transplantable rhabdomyosarcoma in the rat. Fractions of labelled cells in various regions of the tumour were estimated after pulse labelling and after repeated labelling with 3H-thymidine of tumours with volumes of about 0·3 cm3. An analysis is presented of the cell cycle time of the proliferating cells and of the variations of the fractions of labelled cells. The distribution of labelled cells through the cross-section of the tumour showed a high labelling index near the periphery and alternating indexes with lower peaks in the centre. The results of the experiments using repeated labelling of the tumours showed that the variations of the fractions of labelled cells represent true variations in growth fractions. © 1967.
