Biodegradability of the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Emissions from the Food, Drink and Metal Degreasing Industries
bookPart
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to quantify the emissions from food, drink and metal degreasing industries, and to discuss the potential for biotechnological abatement of VOCs from these sources. The combined emission from these industries was estimated at 600 ktonne per year, although our estimates of data quality suggest that further measurements are required to verify this figure. The biodegradability of the emissions from these industries were reviewed and the need for further research was identified. © 1992.
