Re-injecting co2 into an offshore gas reservoir at a depth of nearly 4000 metres sub-sea
bookPart
In line with the Dutch Climate Policy on the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol, the Netherlands Government is currently investigating to what extent CO, emissions could be reduced by CO, sequestration in the deep subsurface. On 7 February 2002, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs introduced a new policy to promote studies into the feasibility of CO storage in the subsurface. Funding is available for studies that evaluate the feasibility and use of underground CO) injection facilities including the associated infrastructure and organizational aspects required (BSE-2002-CRUST subsidy).
