Storage of carbon dioxide in aquifers in The Netherlands
bookPart
This paper presents the results of a study about the technical feasibility of the underground storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) in aquifers. Special attention was paid to physical processes, limiting geological conditions and geochemical and environmental aspects. The CO2 storage capacity of aquifers below the Dutch onshore is estimated based on these results. In addition, the long-term CO2 storage potential of a hypothetical CO2 storage reservoir is estimated. © 1995 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
