Het COPHIN-project 1971-1974: V infarct, angina pectoris, claudicatio en het ECG; onderlinge relaties [The COPIH project 1971-1974. V. Myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, intermittent claudication and the ECG; interrelationships]

article
The interrelationships between aspects of the medical history and the ECG interpretation according to the Minnesota code was studied. In general this relation was scant. A positive history of severe chest pain lasting for more than 30 minutes was given by 6.1% of the examinees; a positive history of angina by 5.2%. According to the histories 0.6% of the study population suffered from intermittent claudication. Positive histories for these three conditions were more frequently given by older men. ECG indications of possible or probable ischaemic heart disease were found by 7.5% and 1.5%, respectively, a total of 1952 men of which 90% gave a negative history for severe chest pain. Nearly 2% of the examinees claimed to use anticoagulants.
