An objective integration procedure for rate equations in explicit structural dynamics

Various procedures for the integration of rate equations are investigated with particular focus on objectivity. It is shown that employing the standard Jaumann stress rate can lead to severe inaccuracies. A Jaumann-rate based incrementally objective integration scheme is proposed, which provides an efficient framework for the integration of strains and stresses.
