High frequency tyre response for arbitrary road input
conference paper
To determine the tyre response to arbitrary road input, enveloping models are used to calculate an effective road surface, which is used as excitation for a rigid ring dynamic tyre model. In this paper different enveloping models, including a new enveloping model based on basic functions, are described and compared with measurements. For each enveloping model in combination with the rigid ring model, the dynamic response on different short-wavelength obstacles is calculated and compared with measurements and simulations with a complex flexible ring model. The valid frequency range of the rigid ring is 0-80 Hz.
