A locking free mortar method for coupling of fourier models and 3D non-axisymetric shell structures
article
In this paper a new method is introduced for the coupling of sub-domains some of them being axisymetric and others being fully 3D. A dedicated "mortar" method is presented and a number of examples are presented for linear, buckling, and non linear geometrical and material cases. The method presented uses the COMU shell element which permits non linear computation of axisymetric structures either with non axisymetric initial imperfections or non axisymetrically loaded. This element is combined with usual 3D DKT shell element via a special mortar method.
