Designing a DAS system for a geothermal well

conference paper
This abstract discusses design considerations of a Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system to be used in high-temperature (HT) geothermal wells with temperatures up to 450°C – 500°C. This system is developed in the H2020 GeoWell research project. GeoWell aims at developing reliable, cost effective and environmentally safe technologies for amongst others monitoring of high-temperature geothermal wells. One of these technologies is Temperature and strain measurements in wells using fibre optic technologies to monitor well integrity. The technology developed will be tested in laboratories and partly in real geothermal environment [1].
