Frost-mound scars and the evolution of a Late Dryas environment (northern Netherlands)

Small oval to round depressions in Weichselian deposits near Scheemda were formed in Late Dryas time. Lithology, sedimentology, and stratigraphic position indicate that these depressions were produced by seasonal frost action followed by thermokarst solution. -from Authors
