Malabsorption syndrome
conference paper
There are may causes for the development of the malabsorption syndrome but in our opinion disturbances in the enzymatic digestion of fats, proteins and carbohydrates occupy a very important place. We have discussed how these enzyme deficiencies may cause malabsorption, against the background of the physiological-chemical processes in the small intestine. It seems probable that a lack of activity, of no matter which representative of the vast group of fat, protein and carbohydrate splitting enzymes, may provoke the clinical picture of malabsorption.
