The effect of atropine and methylatropine on the sweat secretion of unrestrained mice, measured with radioactive saline

article
Effect of drugs on the natural sweat secretion from the feet of freely moving mice was determined. Mice injected with labelled saline were allowed to move freely on filterpaper. The amount of radioactivity found in the paper is a measure of the sweat produced. The filterpaper was impregnated with bromphenol blue in order to detect contamination by excreta other than sweat. A quaternary derivative of atropine was found to diminish the excretion of radioactive material more than its tertiary analogue.
