Standardisation of analytical procedures
article
After a general introduction on the development of analytical chemistry and the need for concise methods and procedures not only for testing materials but also for general analyses, the authors describe the present situation in the field of standardisation and the development of an organisation dealing with the standardisation of analytical procedures. The principles underlying this work, its special features and major achievements are dealt with in some detail. Rules for unification in the description of a procedure are given and the necessity of standardising chemiċal glassware and commonly used apparatus is stressed. © 1948.
