Presence of fibrin prolongs the retainment of locally injected tissue plasminogen activator

article
Tissue plasminogen activator, injected intradermally or intramuscularly into rats, remained at the site of injection for Ionger periods when injected together with particles of plasminogen-free ffbrin than after injection without ffbrin. The results show that fibrin deposits can enhance the local efiects of fibrinolytic agents under physiological conditions. They substantiate the role of ffbrin in the regulation of focal fibrinolytic activity in tissue repair, which was previously supported by in oitro experiments.
