Geluidvoortplanting in leidingsystemen bij enkele typen bronnen
article
For machinery, installations, fans and engines an important noise source, besides casing noise, is often the noise from inlet and exhaust systems openings. It is of general interest therefore to be able to describe the sound transmission through piping systems and more specific the possibilities to reduce this transmission by adequate designing of the system and silencers. During the past decade TPD has developped a calculation model for this purpose, based on plane wave lineair theory. This model will be described and its applications illustrated by some calculation-examples. Special attention shall be given to the adequate modelling of some source types for this type of calculations, an essential part in achieving correct predictions.
