Geluidhinder van vliegtuigen - een systematische aanpak

During the last twee decades the problem of aircraft noise annoyance has been dealt with in the Netherlands in a systematic way. Social surveys and medical research yielded insight into the effects of aircraft noise on people; a comprehensive system of legíslative and technical measures - noise certification, preferential runway use, noise abatement procedures, zoning around airports, noise levies, etc. made it possible to get the problem under control. The article summarizes the main research results obtained.
