Het meten van ISO-verstaanbaarheidscontouren in zalen

article
An objective method for measuring speech intelligibility in auditoria has been used for mapping iso-intelligibility contours and tracing areas with a poor intelligibility. The method is based on the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) and results in a single index, the STI (Speech Transmission Index). It is also shown that the contribution of a public address system, with respect to intelligibility, can be quantified very simply, especially in combination with an (artificial) background noise. A brief description is given of a screening device RASTI (Room Acoustics Speech Transmission Index), which measures the STI for two octave bands within 10-15 sec.
