Berekening van de ISO-verstaanbaarheidscontouren in zalen dmv ray-tracing

article
The desire to predict the speech intelligibility in rooms is apparent. In both the designing stage of a room and in the case of acoustical improvements, one would like to know the effect of certain measures on speech intelligibility. For this reason a mathematical model has been developed which allows the user to easily simulate different acoustical conditions. The results are presented in the form of iso-intelligibility contours drawn in an outline of the room. The theory behind the model is briefly discussed. To verify the model, comparisons were made between predicted, and actually measured values in a scale model as well as in a classroom. The measurements show the need to model the effect of diffuse sound. This effect has also been included in the computer model.
