31—A simple method for determining the cb(L) curve by cutting and weighing

article
A cutting and weighing method is described that has the advantage of giving a relatively reliable CB(L) curve with the smallest possible number of observations. The method is based on the cutting of a series of different but consecutive pieces, ascending in length, which together form one “period”. The total number of periods, which need not be consecutive, is given by the desired number of observations. By combining the lengths chosen according to a particular scheme, new data are obtained without the necessity of observation. © 1963, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
