Evaluation studies

bookPart
This chapter reports on field and simulator studies that evaluated the behavioral effects of the "GIDS" support system. On several parameters of driving performance (speed, levels of deceleration and the occurrence of short headways to preceding vehicles) it made a difference whether GIDS support was given. Moreover, there were indications that integrating separate support components at certain critical occasions had an extra beneficial effect on workload as compared to non-integrated support.
