Long-term effects of innovative city logistics measures

bookPart
This contribution is based on two long-term evaluation studies that were conducted in the CIVITAS initiative. CIVITAS is a European program to support sustainable urban mobility. The first study was based on a meta-analysis on the evaluation of CIVITAS city logistics measures across Europe that ended a decade ago. The second study was an in depth evaluation of two successful innovative CIVITAS measures in Utrecht that ended four years ago. Both studies show the difficulties that innovative city logistics measures face when the demonstration projects end and the logistics solutions need to compete in a commercial market. Also in that stage, these measures need the right support and a sustainable business case to be successful in the longer term.
