Variations in present-day temperatures and heat flow in onshore and offshore Netherlands
conference paper
The subsurface temperature and heat flow of onshore and offshore Netherlands are subject of active research at the Netherlands Institute of Applied Geoscience TNO - National Geological Survey. Analysis of temperature data resulted in the identification of temperature and associated heat flow differences at different spatial scales. Differences in bulk conductivity play an important role in explaining lateral differences in temperature and heat flow on both regional and local scale. An important additional influence is groundwater flow.
