Conversational quality assessment of advanced video conferencing systems

With the covid-19 pandemic outbreak the number of users of advanced video conferencing systems
such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, FaceTime (and so on) has increased significantly. The
end-to-end conversational speech quality of these systems is, in many cases, below expectation
mainly because of large delays and the underestimated effect of degradations caused by the
interaction of the microphone and loudspeaker with the send and receive room. This paper
proposes a practical quality assessment approach based on ITU recommendations.
