Intervention Mapping is a method developed to develop customized interventions underpinned by scientific literature. Here we describe our experience in applying the IM method to develop a safety intervention within a company. Thanks to the IM process, we managed to come up with a good custom-developed intervention, but we also encountered a blind spot in its application. By sharing our experiences, we hope to help and inspire occupational health and safety professionals for the next time they need to work with a safety intervention.
