Blood sampling techniques for fibrinolytic studies : Comparison of Vacutainer(R) and traditional techniques
article
The blood fibrinolytic activity, as assessed in the normal euglobulin fraction, was higher in each of the 18 volunteers when the blood sample was collected in the Vacutainer tube, either with or without vacuum. The difference in fibrinolytic activity measured between the two collection methods is variable; the difference in average lysis diameters ranges from 0.3-3.9 mm.
