Apolipoprotein E as a risk factor for coronary heart disease: A genetic and molecular biology approach

article
For a long time it has been suggested that apolipoprotein E, is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease although indisputable proof has been lacking. However, context-dependent influences of apolipoprotein E polymorphism on the risk for coronary heart disease have been reported; that is, depending on ethnic origin, gender and lifestyle, apolipoprotein E4 confers a major risk factor for coronary heart disease.
