Karakterisering van tweetraps AFBB-reststoffen
report
Within the framework ofthe dutch national coal research program (NOK) the project 'Characterization of two-stage fluid-bed ashes on physical and chemical properties and leaching behaviour' (NOVEM- contractnumber 882845/ 2629 (72.40 - 306.10)) is carried out, by order of the 'Nederlandse Maatschappij voor Energie en Milieu (NOVEM)'. To get a picture of the properties of two-stage AFBB-residues, as they wil be produced (in larger quantities) in the future has been the aim of this project. Moreover the characterization results can be used in research where AFBB-residues are used as secondary raw materials in the production of building materials. Five residues have been characterized. This means that they have been chemically analysed on main and trace-elements and that the following physical properties have been determined: specific density, bulk density and particle size distribution. Besides the availability of these elements for leaching has been examined. Of these five residues, three have been chosen to be characterized more extensively. Of these three residues, in addition to the properties already mentioned, the bitume-number and the specific area have been determined and also the morphology has been investigated with a Raster Electron Microscope. The leaching behaviour of two fly ashes and one bed ash has been examined more extensively by carrying out the complete standard leaching test, as recommended and developed by the SOSUV working group.
