This report describes execution and results of the Boilerselection project. The aim of this project was to develop a computerprogram for the calculation of fuelconsumption and operating costs of boilerplants for space heating. First the motivation for the project and the system boundary of the program to be developed are presented. Then a description follows, concerning the relations between the various variables relevant for the energyconsumption calculation and the costsbenefit analysis. The computerprogram developed from these theoretical relations, the so-called Boilerselectionprogram, offers the opportunity to analyse various boiler plants with respect to energyconsumption and costs. Therefore it is necessary however, that hourly (sequential) data on building heatdemand and ambient temperature are available, together with a number of boiler plant data
