Benut regionaal talent met Technohubs Inclusieve Technologie [Tap into regional talent with Technohubs Inclusive Technology]

article
The deployment of inclusive technology (e.g. occupational orientation via VR glasses or a cognitive-support system for packing tasks), offers work perspectives to people with a distance to the labour market. In addition, it can make working people’s lives more enjoyable and easier to sustain. In so-called regional Technohubs Inclusive Technology (TINTs), employers, educational and knowledge institutions (mbo/hbo), technology providers and regional social development companies work together to develop, apply and share knowledge on inclusive technology. In this essay, the authors argue that these regional cooperation in a TINT is essential to effectively use technology to counter labour market underutilisation and enable inclusion and meaningful work for more people. After an introduction, two practical case studies show how the TINT contributes to inclusion and that regional strengths are exploited precisely because of their multidisciplinary configuration and cooperation in ecosystems. It also shows the value of a TINT for individual employees and their improved access to work. The results are positive, but follow-up actions are needed to reap more benefits from inclusive technology.
