Prioriteringsstudie Jeugdgezondheidszorg Richtlijnen
article
Introduction: It is important that guidelines for Youth Health Care (YHC) are based on the most recent scientific and practical knowledge. Many YHC guidelines are outdated or are not aligned with the ‘Landelijk Professioneel Kader’ (LPK). The aim of this study is to provide insight into which guidelines or guideline modules need to be updated in the coming years and with which priority. Methods: Criteria for prioritization have been drawn up and approved by the Guideline Advisory Committee and the advisory group. The needs of YHC professionals, guideline developers, representatives of professional groups, parents and young people have been identified. Finally, some quickscans were carried out. Results: Based on the established criteria and the needs of involved parties, an overview has been made of YHC guideline modules, including a ranking based on the ‘need-for-update’. Also, topics for generic modules and for new guideline modules have been identified.Discussion: This study has led to an overview of 35 YHC guidelines divided into 231 modules, which also provides insight into groupings of modules and generic modules. YHC guidelines that will not be updated soon should be adapted to match the ‘Landelijk Professioneel Kader’, to ensure that professionals experience more freedom to provide personalized care. In addition, research into the use and benefits of YHC guidelines is desirable.
