Intelligent Operational Decision Support for the Military Engineer
conference paper
This paper describes a proof-of-concept application that
aims at providing timely decision support for the military
engineer. Abstracting the characteristics of the terrain
and integrating these elements into a simulation
environment enables the use of AI methods such as
genetic algorithms and Monte-Carlo simulations for
finding courses of action that perform well. The
experiments show that a good obstacle effect location
strategy can be found that exploits weaknesses of the
opponent.
