Information requirements for effective management of an ageing transport network

conference paper
In this paper the budget prognosis and the technical end of service life issues of the transport infrastructure replacement program of Rijkswaterstaat are introduced. Furthermore the technical information required to execute the program in a cost-effective way while keeping the infrastructure safe and available is discussed. For fatigue and static safety of steel bridges, one of the major issues within the replacement program, an overview of the required technical information and the way it is used in various assessment procedures is given. From this overview some recommendations for improvements are given © 2019 Taylor & Francis Group, London
