Coal power will be an important contributor to power sector growth in Indonesia. It represents an abundant, low cost and domestic source of energy. This report explores the potential role of clean coal technology in Indonesia’s energy future in relation to five domestic power sector policy drivers: 1) generation expansion, 2) energy diversification, 3) domestic coal consumption, 4) climate change mitigation and 5) electricity subsidy reduction.
