article
The attack of inhaled particles is mainly determined by fheir chemical or biological composition, their place ol starting out in the bronchial tubes, úhe evenfual possibility of ahsorption in the aerosole in the tissues and the distribution in the body. Attention is here paid only to factors which are signiticanl for the place in the bronchial tubes where (dust)particles cån stail but, called fhe deposition.area.
Àuthor furlher holds the view that the predic.
tion of depositions, the deposition-area and the possibly connected reacfions of the body, must be for the time being a mâfler of esfimate will great uncertainties. Finally he pleads lor the promotion o[ more experimental research in lhe Netherlands.
