The brochure presents the highlights from the North Sea Transnational Grid (NSTG) project, in which different solutions for connecting all future wind farms (around 2030) in the northern part of the North Sea have been evaluated. An integrated solution that combines grid connection of these wind farms and transnational trade between the North Sea countries has been compared to separate connections with respect to costs and socio-economic benefits. For selected designs the grid planning and stability has been studied as well as control and optimization of meshed DC-grids.
