Vormgeven en sinteren van keramische materialen
article
The forming of Si3N4 products with slip and pressure casting was investigated. The influence of the powder characteristics and the slip properties on the forming process was of special interest. Stable Si3N4 slips were prepared with water as a dispersing medium. For pressure casting, which gives a gain in processing time, stable dispersions should be used. Complex shaped products could be produced by slip casting but not by isostatic pressure casting because there was no suitable mould available. However, most geometries can also be made by uni-axial pressure casting, with one flat filtering surface and a steel mould cavity. During sintering a high density was obtained with all products.
