Thermo-mechanische analyse (TMA) is een methode om het thermische en mechanische gedrag van een kunststof te analyseren, en tevens om invloeden van procescondities te onderzoeken. Besproken wordt het bepalen van: de lineaire thermische uitzettings-coëfficiënt als functie van de temperatuur; de glas-rubberovergangstemperatuur; de grootte van de inwendige spanningen in een proefstuk; de elasticiteitsmodulus als functie van de temperatuur; het uithardingsproces in een thermo-hardend materiaal; de elasticiteitsmodulus in relatie tot de lineaire thermische uitzettings-coëfficiënt.
