Modeling the Dutch subsurface : From paper product towards dissemination of a 3D-digital model
conference paper
The Geological Survey of the Netherlands carried out several major mapping projects to construct a consistent, regional-scale petroleum geological framework for the deep subsurface of the Netherlands, both on- and offshore. In the last decade the modeling approach has developed into a fully digital workflow resulting in a 3D-model. The 3D-digital geological model is a regional subsurface layer model of geological horizons ranging from Carboniferous to Neogene in age. The model is based on interpretations of 3D- and 2D seismic surveys, combined with a variety of well data, supported by biostratigraphical, petrophysical and geochemical analysis.
