Radiation pyrometers are frequently used for the measurement of the surface temperature of moving objects. Complications arise when the emissivity of the surf ace involved is not constant, or not uniform. With thin wires, the small radiating area presents another difficulty. The paper describes a pyrometer that is designed to avoid these difficulties.
