Attenuation of ground-borne vibration affecting residents near railway. Lines Deliverable 2.1: exposure response relationships and factors influencing these relationships (Work Package WP1)
report
The objective of the present deliverable is to describe and assess reported health impacts of vibration among residents living near railway lines, in particular the response to freight trains. To this end, first a state of the art overview is given of the results from all field studies reported so far on the evaluation of vibration from several railway sources. This includes the results from the new field data gathered in the Netherlands and in Poland within the CargoVibes project. Subsequently, results are described of a comparative meta-analysis on all available field data, yielding an exposure-response relationship for annoyance due to vibration from railway sources.
