Modelling the effects of a CBRN defence system using a Bayesian Belief Model

conference paper
In this paper a Bayes model to quantify the effects of a passive CBRN defence system is presented. The model gives insight in the way of the mutual influence of all the elements of passive CBRN defence, by the use of detailed scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis and root cause analysis. This can help in conducting evaluation studies for policy development and capability studies for equipment replacement and procurement. The model is built up by bricks, each brick - consisting of associated elements - representing an area of the CBRN defence system. The construction process of the model is aimed to bring knowledge from a wide variety of expertise areas together to make the interrelations between these areas of expertise explicit. Therefore experts of all the areas within the CBRN defence system collaborated to develop the system approach model.
