Wind interference between two high-rise building models: Interference factors for minimum peak pressures on facades and roof

conference paper
A wind tunnel study was performed to assess the influence of interference between two high-rise building
models on the minimum peak pressure coefficients on facades and roof. A total of 33 configurations were
investigated for 24 angles of incidence. The influence of a square and circular interfering model with a height
equal to and halfthe reference model was investigated. The results indicate a largest increase of 40% on the
facades and 50% on the roof. The square full-height interfering model positioned at (X, Y) : (l .5B, 0) affected
the largest area ofthe facades on the reference model. Increasing the distance between the models reduced the
size as well as the magnitude of the effect in the influenced region. The circular model was found to have a less
adverse influence compared to the square interfering model
