Evaluation of field-desorption and fast atom-bombardment mass spectrometric profiles by pattern recognition techniques

article
Field-desorption and fast atom-bombardment mass spectrometry are promising techniques for generating profiles of complex mixture of non-volatile compounds. This was concluded from results obtained with urine and wine samples. Pattern recognition techniques, such as non-linear mapping, K-nearest neighbours and principal component analysis, in combination with Fisher weighting, can be applied to optimize the experiments and to evaluate the data sets. ?? 1983.
