The impact of single and multi play on service platforms
conference paper
We see a shift in the way broadband services are being provided. Next to the traditional ‘single service provisioning’, existing service providers are now also starting to bundle services into triple- or multi-play service packages. As the availability and uptake of broadband access connections is increasing, we see also an increasing diversity of network independent service providers. This paper will focus on the current developments in The Netherlands regarding the way service providers are offering single and multi-play services and how this relates to their use of service platforms. We conclude that this trend will have impact on the involvement of these parties in the home network and the needed service platform functionalities.
